The Dare Family Services Western Regional program offers three critical services to the children, adults and families entrusted to our care.
We provide Intensive Foster Care services to children referred by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). Children in placement in our foster homes do not share a room. Our foster parents attend weekly support groups offered at our three offices. We also offer weekly yoga classes to foster children in placement and their families.
We provide Family Support and Stabilization (FSS) services to intact families referred by DCF. The goal of this program is to prevent an out-of-home placement for a child or children in a family. FSS services also may help families reunify after an out-of-home placement; they also help or support guardianship and adoption placements. The Dare staff and our current foster parents provide these services.
Our Shared Living program offers a treatment-oriented, shared living experience to adults referred by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). The program enables developmentally disabled adults to live with families in the community. The DDS adults in our Shared Living homes have their own bedrooms. Our Shared Living providers attend weekly support groups and DDS-approved training.
āDare Family Services offers beneficial group trainings, a strong support system with crisis procedures and exciting appreciation events for both clients and foster parents. Dareās specialized foster care offers strong foundations through treatment plans that help the clients succeed.ā --Erica, Foster Parent since 2011.
