Dare Family Services provides several services from our Worcester location.
Our Intensive Foster Care (IFC) program serves children and adolescents, referred to us by the Department of Children and Families (DCF), who need a stable, loving home. These children have past histories of abuse and neglect and thrive in supportive, structured home environments where they can learn, heal and grow.
We also have a limited number of clients who require more one-on-one attention: children and young adults who may have suffered more severe abuses, or might be cognitively limited. In cases where a higher level of care is needed, we offer an Enhanced Therapeutic Foster Care (ETFC) program.
We are looking to grow our Shared Living program, which offers supportive and treatment-oriented homes for adults referred to us by the Department of Developmental Services (DDS). The program enables developmentally disabled adults to live with families in the community.
In addition, our location offers a Family Support and Stabilization (FSS) program. This service aims to prevent the removal of a child from his or her biological family by maintaining the current home structure; our trained, professional, Masters-level staff provides in-home counseling support. This service is also used to support the reintegration of a child back to his or her home and community after being in an out-of-home placement. The goal of this support is to guide the family toward achieving and maintaining a healthy, balanced home life.
